Baker Family Photos Historical

My Name is Bradley SaintJohn And My Wife Is Tina, who was born a Baker. Tina and her sister Jessie Joy are the daughters of Lily (Harris) Baker and Scotty Baker. Lily and Scotty have given me some family photos to digitize in order to preserve. There are some that we have a little information about. If you are a family member and have any further info please let us know.

Also if you are looking for relatives and run across this page you may have found us, or not.

Below are Daguerreotype Photographs that are the oldest know in the family

These Two Photos are from the same frame set. C 1861, We are not sure as of yet who they are.

Upon opening up the photo from the frame to scan them, I found a stamp affixed to the rear of the parents Photo. I question the scratches on the photo as it was quite well sealed in its frame, and with a glass cover.

The stamp was used to show proof that the federal tax was paid for the photograph. The main subject of the photo is a soldier, and the photo was normally taken just prior to his deployment. It was common for soldiers to do this, even considering the cost, thinking they knew they may not return. This must have been a well to do, as he had the two photos and a fancy relief frame.
